Employment Specialist-Part Time

In anticipation of an upcoming position, Back in Motion Rehab has an opening for a part-time Employment Specialist to work within our Customized Employment Program in our Newton office. The position will also require travel to potential employers in a variety of communities. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 1 year of employment counseling or job development experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders. Preference is for someone with strong ability and experience working with people with disabilities, RRP or willingness to complete the designation, and experience with and/or knowledge of the Customized Employment model.

Duties include but are not limited to:Working with clients through Discovery to identify individualized job goals, which are negotiated based on the needs, strengths, and interest of the jobseeker.Securing meaningful paid employment within the communityEducating employers regarding HR issues around persons with disabilities, including how to successfully integrate a person with a disability into the work environment, identifying workplace barriers and educating staff regarding the nature of the disability if necessary.Providing onsite job coaching when necessary
