at the University of British Columbia, and has been a
registered psychologist since 1991. She is one of the
original founders of Back in Motion, having been with
the company since it opened its doors in 1993.

In addition to this role, she maintains her interest in psychological assessment, acting as a consultant in this area, and supervising a number of staff.
If you don't run into Debbie at work, you may spot her running on the streets around town, logging many miles training for marathons, or at various community sports venues watching her children play baseball and soccer.
As
Director of Business Development, Brent is primarily
responsible for guiding the strategic growth of Back in
Motion, and developing new business opportunities.
Business development was a natural transition for Brent,
given that he had always been committed to finding the
best solutions for both clients and customers. While
Back in Motion’s growth must be aligned with the
company’s vision, Brent believes that long-term success
is built one customer and one solution at a time!

Employment Program.

Originally from Belgium, Philippe came to
Canada in 1988 and has lived in Vancouver since 1992. He
has an advanced degree in physical therapy from Ghent
University, where he graduated in 1988, and is currently
in the final phase of completing an MBA program at
Athabasca University, Alberta.
For most of his career Philippe has worked in private practice. Early on, he realized that he enjoyed the business side of health care delivery as much as the clinical aspect. Hence, over time he gradually gravitated toward positions that allowed him to combine both disciplines. This has especially been the case since he joined Back in Motion Rehab in 1998. Currently, Philippe is Director of Operations for the company and he is also accountable for special projects.
While Philippe no longer competes in triathlons—he finished the Hawaii Ironman on two occasions—he continues to stay fit through participating in a variety of sports and physical activities. He also enjoys reading and traveling.
As
Director of Finance, Mary McCulligh oversees all
financial aspects of Back in Motion, including payroll,
accounts payable/receivable, forecasting and budgeting.
She has been with the company since its inception, and
plays a vital role in ensuring its ongoing financial
viability. Mary began her professional career as a
Warrant Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves in
Vancouver. She left that position to complete a legal
assistant diploma, then worked for a local law firm.
Mary was first introduced to the field of disability
prevention in 1991 when she was hired in an
administrative position in the Rehabilitation Centre at
WorkSafeBC. This experience provided her with the
foundation for her growing role within Back in Motion.
When Mary is not crunching numbers at work, she can be found counting the worms in her garden, or the number of books donated, or raffle tickets sold for her son's school.
